Our wedding evening reception was held at Rendezvous Hotel. About twenty tables of guests were invited and we were really excited about it. We had selected many songs, which we loved, to be played and shared during the party. These included many Irish, scottish favourites and harp and fiddle music. We had also screened the slideshows we had painstakingly prepared on our travelling adventures to Australia, Greece and Ireland.

Cocktail started at about 6p.m. and these were some scenes captured...

Our toastmaster for the night was none other than the steady and eloquent Cong! He did a great job. Before our march-in, our wedding and Aussie slideshow were screened.

Our grand march-in song was "My Love is like a Red Red Rose" sung by Izzy and based on the poem above, written by Robert Burns of Scotland in 1794. We love the song when we first heard it. So dreamy with love and passion...

...after which we had the FAKE-cake-cutting ceremony and still must look happy cutting it. The cake-cutting ceremony was originated by the Romans, who believed that throwing the cakes on the bride will aide in her fertility to give birth to children after marriage. But too bad, no one can throw the cake at me because it was real FAKE.

Our banquet started and was accompanied by a fast Irish tune. Someone commented that it sounded like er-hu music at the chinese teahouse but er-hu is not used in Irish music (hee...). My brother commented that the music raised the adrenalin level and make one wants to gorge down the food (a bit exaggerating..haha..) but I like the mood the tune created that night.

Think hubby looked very hungry...

My uncle and Bestman were invited up to say a few words about the bride and groom.

Hubby gave a touching thank-the-parents speech. Flowers were then presented to our parents to show our gratitude to them for bringing us up as well as giving us their blessings in the marriage.

We have invited three of the ex-geyaorians of NUS to showcase their singing talents. We were so happy and touched that they agreed to perform. They had indeed added joy and life to the party. Well done, Alice, Shirlaine and Jiafa! Thank you for your wonderful songs (Love Concerto and 恋爱频率）!

Weddings symbolise the union of two hearts and lives, witnessed by a communion of family, relatives and friends. The wedding is just a beginning of a marriage and for it to lasts a lifetime, not only patience, understanding, trust and love are needed, but also the strength, consent and support from our families, relatives and friends, which shall form a part of the web that holds the love and marriage together. We thank all those who attended and share our love and joy at the wedding. May you be well and happy always.
